Huw Roberts is Director of Welsh Affairs for the Royal Mail Group and MD of political consultancy Huw Roberts Associates. He revived his eponymous company, after early retirement from the Board of BBC Wales. 60 years old, Huw joined the Welsh Office in the mid 70s. He moved to London to work at the Department of Energy, NEDO and No10 then brought his family back to Wales when he joined the Welsh Development Agency. Back in London he was Head of the Press Office at ITN then returned to Cardiff as Director of Corporate Affairs at electricity company Swalec. Huw was Senior Special Adviser to Rt Hon Ron Davies, MP, Secretary of State for Wales, who oversaw the devolution campaign before his spectacular cabinet resignation. Cardiff-born and brought up in Abercynon, Huw now lives in the Vale of Glamorgan; He is married with three grown-up children. He is Deputy Chair of Artes Mundi, Wales Trustee of National Energy Action, a board member of the Institute of Welsh Affairs and a School Governor. |
